Timothy Moms Deuteronomy 6:6-7 Challenge Week #4

This week's challenge comes from the section of the Deuteronomy 6:6-7 which talks about us as parents diligently teaching our kids things from God's word that are in our hearts WHEN THEY LIE DOWN!

This week we come to bedtime! Either at naptime or nighttime ( if your kids don't take a nap) take the time to read them a short section of scripture or a Bible story or just tell them a Bible story or something you've been studying that is being impressed upon you.

My kids are young, 3 and 5, and so I plan to do this at naptime and bedtime. I'd like to draw out a truth from God's word after reading them one of their non-Bible books at naptime, and then at bedtime I plan to go back to reading them a short section from their kids Bible. I've gotten away from that and currently just sing to them at bedtime and read them a story at naptime. And so today I'm praying and looking to be more purposeful about taking a minute or two to talk with them about God's word after reading their story book and to read a short section of scripture to them before I sing them their song at night.

What about you? How would you like to take challenge #4 and apply it to your life with your kids?

If you choose to post a blogpost on this challenge, please be sure to leave a link to your post in the Mr. Linky below. You can come back here to Timothy Moms at anytime in the future and read the previous challenges and post on any of them if you'd like.

Enjoy!

I'm praying for us as moms and for our kids as we desire to lead them to Christ!

I love the idea of this challenge. Wish I would have found it sooner and I would have be playing along but now is better than never. I'm going to start reading bible stories at bedtime. Right now we just let them choose whatever book they want, but now I'm going to give a choice between bible stories.
